Additive Manufacturing (AM) started to develop in the early 80’s with many different processes being invented simultaneously. Of these only a few processing techniques have been adapted for the manufacture of Energetic Materials (EM). This paper provides an overview of AM types and the experiments conducted with EM. The main challenges in applying Material Extrusion (MEx) and Vat Photopolymerization techniques (VP) such as Stereolithography (SLA) and Digital Light Projector (DLP) to EM will be discussed.
