L-038 NIMIC Report on the Meeting to Discuss Thermal Threat-Stimuli and their Effects

Stokes III (Propulsion Design), Jason deW FitzGerald-Smith (Warhead Design) The Purpose of the meeting was to invite key specialists, concerned with vulnerability of weapon platforms to thermal threats, to fore-gather at NIMIC and take advantage of a briefing by Mr Leo Budd from NAWC China Lake. Mr Leo Budd is currently involved with live testing of munitions on aircraft and their survivability, particularly to fires. The meeting also provided an opportunity for such specialists to exchange ideas and technical information, and in addition to propose plans for addressing some of the real thermal threats.
