O-133 Synopric Review of Insensitive Explosive Molecules
Since the 1990s a large number of insensitive energetic materials have been under consideration for insensitive munitions purposes. After the landmark paper by Doherty and Simpson [4], new candidate materials have entered the field and others have vanished for different reasons.
It is thus the objective of the present paper to briefly summarize on the progress in the field of new insensitive energetic materials, to discuss their technical and experimental application and to highlight their advantages and limitations.
In addition, the safety and performance requirements for insensitive energetic molecules in different applications are discussed.
