L-105 An Overview of the Operational Environmental Data Used for the Assessment of Ammunition Safety within NATO
March 2004
Ian Powell (Mitigation Methods) The assessment of the safety and suitability for service of munitions is a key process within the NATO nations. Agreements on the extent and scope of these assessments have been reached and are now extant. Such standardisation is critical to the key NATO goal of successful interoperability between its member nations. This report provides an analysis of the current operational environmental data used for the assessment of munition safety within NATO. The report will focus on what is currently available within NATO, but will include reference to relevant national documentation as appropriate.
